Screenprinted t-shirt, 100% cotton

Made in collaboration with A History of Frogs.

The Capricorn Knight by Sydney S. Kim is a mythological mini story written in spiral and wave forms. Printed on both front and back in royal blue on a natural cotton shirt.

"It began deep in her belly: the sound of the sea. The Capricorn knight had heard it only once before, when the water maiden held a conch to her hairy ear. The sea beckoned for months, roiling louder as it calcified in her gut. A bezoar of a different sort, one she could neither expel nor pass..."

Artist’s book, 131 pages

Sydney S. Kim’s tricolored green, cream and pink book offers Italian sentences originating from an Italian phrase-a-day email. From Rebecca Sacks’ introduction: “dark, situational, and often silly, [the sentences] seem to lament the banality of their task. Here they are rescued and reinstated which may situate this project in the realm of salvation far more than that of the ‘found.’ These sentences are surprising and reveal more to us than just your average lonely Italian.”

Lessons from a Lonely Italian can be purchased from Publication Studio’s online store.

Art zine, limited edition of 100, 32 pages

Girlfriend Tape visually communicates the ins and outs of a complex relationship between two individuals using an incredibly simple gesture: two pieces of masking tape are arranged in multiple formal relationships upon a flatbed scanner. These minimalist compositions manage to narrate a wealth of paradoxes involving physical intimacy, emotional distance, and reconciliation. Currently, Girlfriend Tape is sold out.

Art from Girlfriend Tape is featured on the cover of Cathy Linh Che’s debut poetry collection, Split, winner of the 2012 Kundiman Poetry Prize and published by Alice James Books.
